The Senegal national football team is the second team of Africa to announce the final squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The following football players are included:
Goalkeepers: Abdoulaye Diallo («Rennais»), Khadim N'Diaye (Horoya), Alfred Gomis (SPAL);
Defenders: Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), Kara Mbodji (Anderlecht), Lamine Gassama (Alanyaspor), Moussa Wague (Eupen), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux), Saliou Ciss (Angers), Salif Sane (Hannover);
Midfielders: Papa Alioune Ndiaye (Stoke City), Cheikh N'Doye (Birmingham), Cheikhou Kouyate (West Ham), Alfred N'Diaye («Вильярреал»), Idrissa Gueye (Everton);
Forwards: Mame Biram Diouf (Stoke City), Diafra Sakho, Ismaila Sarr (Rennais), Moussa Konate (Amiens), Balde Keita (Monaco), Moussa Sow (Bursaspor), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), M’Baye Niang (Torino)
The Senegal squad has raised no questions of experts. Most players traditionally represent the French Ligue 1. At once three footballers play in the football club Rennais which took the 5th place of honour in Ligue 1.
The star of the team is Sadio Mane, the forward of Liverpool. Mane has spent an excellent season for the English club, and the linking of Mane-Salah-Firmino became the best attacking line in the world football in 2017. However, it is highly questionable whether Mane can be the same effective with his partners in the national team who are much weaker than Mohamed Salah.
